Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Mi Mix smartphones not coming to India

NEW DELHI: Chinese cellphone maker Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphones Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix will not be launched in India. The company says it currently has no plans to launch Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix in India as the market for flagship phones in the country is limited and it will announce only one flagship device every year. This comes as a surprise as the Mi Note 2 was seen as a strong compititor to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. MI Note 2 sports front and back 3D curved glass with dual-edge curved display. Both the devices were launched by Xiaomi yesterday at a gala event in Beijing. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be available in three variants: a 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage model priced at CNY 2,799 (Rs27,619), 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model priced at CNY 3,299 (Rs 32,553) and the Global Edition 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model priced at CNY 3,499 (Rs 34,527). It is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 Performance Edition SoC. With a powerful 4070mAh battery and 5.7 inch display, available in two colours Piano Black and Glacial Silver. Phone has 22.56-megapixel rear camera and it bears an 8-megapixel Sony IMX268 Exmor RS sensor. MI Mix has a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, which the company said is the "highest on any smartphone to date." The smartphone runs on the latest Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage at the price of 3499 yuan. The 18K gold version of the Mi MIX comes with 6GB RAM + 256GB storage for 3,999 yuan. MI Mix possess 6.4-inch edgeless display with full ceramic body.
