Kisan Ekta Morcha Alleges Facebook Blocking Its Account Used By Protesting Farmers

The head of the IT wing of the movement, Baljeet Singh confirmed the development saying "official digital platform of Kisan Mukti Morcha has been blocked without prior notification"

As farmers' protest is gaining momentum by various means it has been alleged that one of the Facebook page operated under the name Kisan Ekta Morcha has been banned by the tech giant on Sunday. The account used by the protesting farmers' organisation to send updates and inform them about the agitations, was shut down for few hours before it restored again.  ALSO READ | On Day 25 Of Agitation, Farmers Observe ‘Shradhanjali Diwas’ As They Pay Homage To 'Martyred' Protesters Though it is not clear for how long and why page was dysfunctional, the head of the IT wing of the farmers' protest Baljeet Singh confirmed the development saying "the official digital platform of Kisan Mukti Morcha has been blocked without prior notification". He further said that the move has come after Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Jagjit Singh Dallewala on Sunday gave a counter response to PM Modi's address from Friday.
Using the Twitter account of Kisan Ekta Morcha, a screenshot has been shared allegedly referring to its Facebook page. The screenshot refers to a Facebook page with the handle name Kisan Ekta Morcha being unpublished due to a violation of Community Standards.
It is pertinent to mention that Kisan Ekta Morcha is one of the biggest pages being used for the farmers' agitation with over 7 lakh followers. Their Instagram page also shared a screenshot of the notice that flashed on their social media page after their accounts were allegedly blocked.
A massive nationwide protest by the farms against the three farm bills, entered 25 straight day on Sunday (December 20.) BKU leaders Jagjit Singh Dalewala, Rakesh Tikait continued to hold protest in the national capital, and urged the public to beat 'thali' at their homes on December 27, during Prime Minister Modi's Mann Ki Baat to mark their protest against the three farm bills. At the same time, Rakesh Tikait urged people to skip a meal on Kisan Diwas, celebrated on December 23.
