EAM Jaishankar Meets Canadian Counterpart On The Sidelines Of East Asia Summit, Discusses Ukraine Conflict
EAM Dr. S Jaishankar also met his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba and discussed the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, grain initiative and nuclear concerns.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on Saturday met with his Candian counterpart Melanie Joly on the sidelines of East Asia Summit and disussed the Ukraine conflict among other important issues. The minister tweeted a photograph of the meeting from his official twitter handle.

Earlier, Dr. Jaishankar met with Ukrainian foreign affairs minister Dmytro Kuleba and discussed the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, grain initiative and nuclear concerns. The minister also met foreign minister of Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan and Indonesian FM Retno Marsudi. He shared the photographs of the meetings on twitter.

EAM Dr. S Jaishankar is accompanying the Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar who is in Cambodia to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit and the 17th East Asia Summit being held in Phnom Penh from November 12 to November 13. Vice President Dhankhar is on a three-day tour which is his first foreign visit after taking charge of the office of the Vice President of India.
He arrived at the Phnom Penh airport, Cambodia on Friday and was welcomed by Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Cambodia and other dignitaries. On the first day of the visit, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar attended a reception organised in their honour by the Indian community and friends of India in Cambodia.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice President called it a special occasion as India and Cambodia are commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations, and the 30th anniversary of India-ASEAN relations with India-ASEAN friendship year.
Emphasising the deep cultural and historical ties between the two countries, the Vice President said, “Cambodians look at India as the revered land of Lord Buddha, just as we think of Cambodia as our civilizational sister and extended family.”
