'Cancel CBSE 2021 Board Exams': CM Arvind Kejriwal Appeals To Centre As Delhi Records 13,500 New COVID Cases
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the centre to cancel CBSE exams as these can become major hotspots leading to large-scale spreading of Corona.
Witnessing continuous surge in the COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urged the centre to cancel upcoming CBSE board exams for classes 10 and 12.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Kejriwal said, "6 lakh children in Delhi are going to write CBSE exams. Nearly 1 lakh teachers will be a part of it. These can become major hotspots leading to large-scale spreading of Corona. Children's lives and health is very important to us. I request Centre to cancel CBSE exams."

He suggested to opt for alternative methods such as children can be promoted on the basis of either an online method or internal assessment.
His appeal to the centre has come the time when Delhi recorded 13,500 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours - the biggest single-day surge so far. During the peak in November, 8500 cases were reported.
Kejriwal further informed that authorities in the national capital are working on attaching banquet halls and hotels with large hospitals. The capacity of beds will also be increased soon. Hospitals may delay some planned surgeries and focus on emergency surgery. Moreover, the experts are examining each patient and a call will be taken if he/she can be cured at home.
"Previously people donated plasma actively. Once again, the demand has arisen and I appeal to people to donate plasma. We are like a family... We will fight together," CM Kejriwal added. he also appealed the people in the city "to not leave homes unless absolutely necessary".
