HC Issues Notice To CBI Over Bail Plea Moved By Kejriwal, Next Hearing Today

Delhi High Court issued notice to the CBI regarding the bail plea moved by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case. Justice Neena Bansal sought a response from the CBI in the matter, listing it for further hearing on July 17.

The AAP chief was arrested from Tihay by the CBI on June 26.

The plea stated that Kejriwal, sitting Delhi CM and AAP's national convenor, was being subjected to harassment for "wholly malafide and extraneous conditions".

The court also noticed the fact that Kejriwal had approached the High Court directly, before moving trial court first.

His lawyer Abhishek Singhvi argued that he is not a terrorist or poses a flight risk. The senior lawyer also stated that the Delhi CM was arrested by the CBI after securing bail in ED's money laundering case.
