Delhi Assembly Session Today, Likely To Discuss CBI Summons To Kejriwal:
The Delhi government has called a special session of the assembly for Monday, and it is expected to discuss in the House the CBI's notice to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case.
According to an official notification, the second part of the Budget Session will begin at 11 am on Monday in the Assembly Hall.
The CBI summoned Kejriwal to its headquarters at 11 a.m. on Sunday to question him about the now-cancelled excise policy. He has been called as a witness by the agency and is not a suspect in the case in which his former deputy Manish Sisodia was arrested on February 26 by the CBI. The AAP has alleged that the party is being targeted for raising its voice against corruption.
Varanasi All Set To Host G20 Events From Monday:
Varanasi will host G20 events for three days beginning Monday, showcasing Uttar Pradesh's rich cultural heritage to the world, news agency PTI reported citing officials. Representatives from 20 of the world's leading countries, as well as delegates from other partner countries, will attend the Agriculture Working Group meeting, which will be held in the 'city of light' from April 17 to 19.
The Yogi Adityanath government has made complete preparations for the G20 events, according to an official statement.
It stated that a message will be sent from the land of Goddess Annapurneshwari to promote nutritious foods, food security, and environmentally friendly farming.
Indian Army's Comprehensive Review Of National Security Challenges Starts Today:
At a five-day conclave beginning Monday, top Army commanders will conduct a comprehensive review of India's national security challenges along its borders with China and Pakistan, as well as ways to improve the force's combat capability.
According to officials, the commanders' conference will also focus on the ongoing reform process in the 1.3 million-strong force, as well as the use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and virtual reality for a variety of purposes, PTI reported.
The Army's plan for the 'Year of Transformation-2023,' as well as progress on the Agnipath scheme and ambitious digitisation and automation initiatives, will be discussed at the conference.
Hyderabad To Host Second Meeting Of G20 Digital Economy Working Group Today:
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will host the second in-person meeting of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) from April 17-19, news agency PTI reported citing officials. MeitY Secretary Alkesh Kumar Sharma and Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman told reporters here that the inaugural address will be delivered by Union Ministers of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan and Social Justice and Empowerment A Narayanaswamy.
The side events will primarily focus on digital connectivity and will include three-panel discussions on the thematic areas of 'High-Speed Mobile Broadband and its Impacts on Lives, Society, and Industry,' 'Digital Inclusion: Connecting the Unconnected,' and 'Sustainable, Green Digital Infrastructure: Challenges and Opportunities,' according to officials.
