Amit Shah To Kickstart Series Of Public Meetings Across Four States Today

BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah will address public meetings in four states on June 10 and 11 as part of the party's nine-year anniversary celebrations.

One of his meetings will take place in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where political speculation is rife about whether the BJP will join forces with the N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party after the two leaders met recently in the national capital.

On Sunday, Shah will address a public meeting in Andhra Pradesh, and people will be looking for any messages in his speech about the BJP's political plans for the state in terms of a new alliance. So far, the state's ruling YSR Congress has been broadly supportive of the central government on key issues.

On June 10, BJP President J P Nadda will also address a public meeting in Tirupati, the state capital. He will also pray at Tirupati Balaji's temple.

Students' Union Declares 48-Hour Jharkhand Bandh Starting Saturday

Jharkhand State Students' Union (JSSU), an umbrella organisation of various student organisations, has called for a 48-hour Jharkhand bandh beginning Saturday in support of its demand for 100% reservation for locals in state government jobs.

On the occasion of the death anniversary of Jharkhand's tribal icon Birsa Munda, the union held torchlight processions in various districts in the evening.

"We chose this event for a torchlight procession to remind the state government of our tribal hero Birsa Munda's dream for Jharkhand." The government has allowed outsiders to work in Jharkhand government jobs, which we cannot allow. As a result, we have declared a 48-hour Jharkhand bandh beginning June 10," JSSU leader Devendra Mahto was quoted as saying by PTI.

Arunachal Pradesh All-Set To Host ‘Civil 20’ Summit From Saturday:

The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and other dignitaries.

"An official engagement group of #G20, #C20 is a unique platform for civil society organisations to discuss people's aspirations and find ways to realise them," Khandu tweeted.

The summit, themed 'Diversity, Inclusion, and Mutual Respect,' will be held in Namsai district and organised by the Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh government.
