An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 on the Richter scale hit Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Wednesday, said the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The earthquake occurred at around 5:43 am.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.2, Occurred on 16-02-2022, 05:43:26 IST, Lat: 33.90 & Long: 75.23, Depth: 16 Km ,Location: 15km SSW of Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir," the NCS tweeted.
Delhi Government declared February 16 as a holiday in all the government offices in view of Guru Ravidas birthday. The official statement issued by the Delhi government reads, "The Lieutenant Governor of the national capital territory of Delhi is pleased to declare Wednesday, 16 February 2022 as a holiday in all government offices under the government of the national capital territory of Delhi on account of Sant guru Ravidas birthday."
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also informed about the same through his official Twitter account. He also poured his greeting on the occasion of Sant Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
The national capital on Tuesday reported 756 new Covid-19 cases. Earlier on Monday, it had reported 586 cases. Delhi also reported a 1.52 per cent positivity rate in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the city rose to 18,52,662, according to the Delhi Health Department bulletin. The total recoveries from the virus have gone up to 18,23,244 including 830 new recoveries.
The city reported five more deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 26,081. The case fatality rate is at 1.41 per cent. The city has 3,337 active COVID-19 cases.

After over one and a half months, the Uttarakhand Government has lifted the night curfew from the state in view of declining cases of Covid-19 in the state. Gyms, shopping malls, cinema halls and salons have also been allowed to open at full capacity across the state, reports news agency ANI.
