BJP Leader Kapil Mishra Demands Ban Of Web Series 'Tandav', Claims It's Full Of Communal Hatred

Boycott Tandav: In a new controversy surrounding the web show Tandav, BJP leader Kapil Mishra has demanded to ban the series. The web series has evoked criticism in social media for offending religious sentiments. Supporting the trend on social media, the BJP leader also tweeted asking to ban Tandav saying it is anti-Dalit and full of communal hatred against Hindus. The BJP leader added the hashtag #BanTandavNow and asked users to write to I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar voicing their concerns over the show. The minister also mentioned the email ID of the IB minister in which users can send their inputs against the show.

The critics have alleged that the makers are trying to "mock" and "target" the Hindu deity as #BoycottTandav kept trending.
Tandav released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday and opened to average reviews. Produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar, the 9-episode political drama has prolific Bollywood actors including Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dino Morea Kumud Mishra, Gauahar Khan, Amyra Dastur, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Kritika Kamra, Sarah Jane Dias, Sandhya Mridul, Annup Sonii, Hitten Ttejwani, Paresh Pahuja, and Shonali Nagrani among others.
Saif will be seen playing an ambitious, shrewd politician Samar Pratap Singh. While Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub portrays a rold of a progressive student leader Shiva Shekhar who challenges Samar as national politics and campus activism comes into play.
