'Sharabi Ho Gaye Tum Log': Nitish Kumar Loses Cool In Assembly As BJP Questions Liquor Ban. WATCH

The proceedings of the Bihar Assembly were disrupted as the Opposition caused an uproar over deaths due to spurious liquor in Chapra.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his temper on Wednesday during the proceedings of the Bihar Assembly as the Opposition caused an uproar over deaths due to spurious liquor in Chapra district. Kumar lost his cool after Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha questioned the deaths due to spurious liquor.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, the Bihar CM could be seen shouting at the members of the Opposition telling them to keep quiet.

"Sharab bandi ke paksh mein aap sab the ya nahi?...Kya ho gaya?..Sharabi ho gaye tum log...Ab tolerate nahi kiya jaayega (You were all in favour of liquor ban. Yes or no? You are drunk. What happened? Keep quiet. You are talking? You do bad things. This will not be tolerated at all)," the Chief Minister raged at BJP MLAs.

As per a report by news agency PTI, six people died after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar’s Saran district, the Police said on Wednesday.

The incident happened in the Ishuapur police station area, they said.

Some people consumed liquor till late on Tuesday at a local joint, and fell ill after returning home, they added.

Eventually, six people died while two others were admitted to a hospital, police said, adding that an investigation was started.

Protesting over the incident, MLAs of the opposition BJP staged a demonstration outside the assembly, blaming the "nexus" between police and illicit liquor traders for the deaths.

"We have always supported the ban on liquor, even when it was introduced while we were in opposition. But its implementation has been a complete failure," said former deputy chief minister Tarkishor Prasad.

Sale and consumption of alcohol were banned in Bihar by the Nitish Kumar government in April 2016.
