Yamaha’s products are known for aggressive styling and performance-oriented appeal. Coupled with some interesting colour schemes at affordable price points, they offer good value as far as the features and money are concerned. Here, we round up the best colour suggestions for products like the Yamaha FZ-S FI, FZ25, YZF-R15 V3, Fascino and Ray ZR.

Yamaha FZ-S FI:

The FZ range single-handedly kickstarted the budget streetfighter segment in the country. Not only that, the motorcycle was also one of the products that put Yamaha at the forefront in a competitive market. Priced at Rs 83,542, the motorcycle is also still competitive among the current crop of naked bikes. However, the only drawback is that there is no ABS, even a single channel unit as an option. The latest generation FZ-S FI comes in five colours for the rear drum brake variant and three colours for the rear disc brake version.

Our Choice:

Knight Red is a good-looking colour option in our opinion. The contrasting light grey on the fender and on the fuel tank goes well with the overall theme. For the rear disc brake version, the Matte Green is our favourite. Along with the green and yellow colour scheme, the stencilled logo makes the motorcycle look more military-ish, and perfectly complements the motorcycle’s masculine design.

Yamaha FZ25:

The FZ25 marks Yamaha’s entry into the quarter-litre segment. Its styling is derived from its younger 150cc sibling -- but manages to stand apart with subtle design tweaks, the motorcycle manages to stand apart. It was also Yamaha’s first motorcycle to feature an LED headlamp. Another notable feature is the fuel efficiency readout apart from regular trove of information. Priced at Rs 1,19,335, Yamaha offers the motorcycle in three colours: Warrior White, Ballistic Blue and Knight Black.

Our Choice:

Of the three colours - Warrior White truly stands out because of the contrasting combination of white body panels with black undertones. Even the powertrain and the mechanical underpinnings have been given the black treatment for a sporty feel. This colour scheme looks better in the flesh than Ballistic Blue in the flesh. On the other hand, Knight Black is ideal for those who want a subtle, stealthy-looking motorcycle.

Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0:

Best Colours For Yamaha FZ-S FI, FZ25, YZF-R15 V3, Fascino And Ray ZR

The third generation of Yamaha’s popular 150cc sportbike is a radical departure both in terms of design and performance. It is the only motorcycle in its segment to sport Variable Valve Timing. This helps the motorcycle to have a considerable improvement in top-end power. It generates 19.3PS at 10,000rpm and 15Nm at 8500rpm, and works in tandem with a 6-speed slip-assisted transmission. There are two colours to choose from: Racing Blue and Thunder Grey apart from the MotoGP Edition. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,27,000.

Our Choice:

We’d recommend the Thunder Grey as it makes the bike look not only stealthy but also sporty enough to match the go of the motorcycle. Though the MotoGP edition gets YZF-R1-inspired Movistar graphics on the bodywork and gold emblem on the fuel tank, we feel it doesn’t really stand out enough to justify the Rs 3,000 premium over the standard model.

Yamaha Fascino:

The Fascino is an ideal alternative to the Vespa range as far as retro-looking scooters are concerned. It is also much more affordable than the Italian, at Rs 54,793. The scooter is also among the most practical ones out there, thanks to a large 21-litre underseat storage and additional storage space on the apron. Yamaha offers a whole range of colours for this scooters --seven to be precise.

Our Choice:

The best among the lot would be Sassy Cyan as it elegantly highlights the Fascino’s curvaceous design language. On the other hand, the black exhaust, wheels, suspension and interior panels exude a sporty appeal, completing the package.

Yamaha Ray ZR:

Best Colours For Yamaha FZ-S FI, FZ25, YZF-R15 V3, Fascino And Ray ZR

The Ray ZR is one of the sportiest-looking 110cc scooters in the country. Its aggressive design lines, especially on the front apron section and on the sides makes the scooter quite appealing among young enthusiasts. Just like the Fascino, the Ray ZR also features a practical 21-litre underseat storage and a small compartment for keeping knick-knacks in the apron. Price for this scooter starts from Rs 53,651 for the front drum variant. Oddly, the drum brake variant is available only in two colours while the front disc brake version comes in five colour choices.

Our Choice:

Rooster Red colour nicely brings out the Ray ZR’s sporty intention and the red-white and black combination is a fresh departure from its competition. For a more subtle look, Dark Knight is an ideal choice. However, this colour is dearer than the normal variant by Rs 1,000.
