Bajaj Becomes Most Valuable Two-Wheeler Brand In The World

Total exports of the two-wheeler manufacturer jumped up by 27 per cent to 2,32,926 units as compared to 1,82,892 units in the same month a year ago, the company statement said.

Delhi: Indian two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto on Monday, said that the company in December 2020 reported an 11 per cent increase in total with sales at 3,72,532 as compared to 3,36,055 in December 2019. Domestic sales of the company saw a 9 per cent decline at 1,39,606 units as compared to 1,53,163 units in the year on year for 2020, it added. Total motorcycle sales were at 3,38,584 units last month as against 284,802 units in December 2019, up 19 per cent. Bajaj Becomes World’s Most Valued Two-Wheeler Manufacturer As of January 1, 2021, Bajaj became the world's first two-wheeler company to cross a market capitalization of ₹ 1 lakh crore, with a stock price on the National Stock Exchange at Rs 3,479, making it's market capitalization Rs 1,00,670.76 crore at that price. According to Bajaj, the market valuation is quite higher than all other domestic two-wheeler companies. The company quoted analysts as saying that a market capitalization of over ₹ 1 lakh crore has not been achieved by any international two-wheeler company in the world. ALSO READ | Toyota Urban Cruiser: Price In India, Specs & Review Of Newly Launched SUV International Partnerships Bajaj Auto owns around 48 per cent stake in the Austrian two-wheeler brand KTM AG and manufactures several small-displacement models of KTM and Swedish motorcycle brand Husqvarna, also owned by KTM, are designed jointly by KTM and Bajaj and manufactured in India. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is also in non-equity partnership with United Kingdoms’ Triumph Motorcycles to manufacture small displacement motorbikes in India for sale in the country and other markets. Bajaj Auto has three manufacturing facilities at Chakan, near Pune, Waluj near Aurangabad, and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. Recently, the company announced to open its fourth plant with an investment of Rs 650 crore for manufacturing premium segment bikes and electric two-wheelers at Chakan. Bajaj Auto is India's largest exporter of two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
