New Delhi: The wait for Kia Sonet just got over as the much-anticipated SUV from Kia Motors has been launched on Friday. With the latest offering, the Korean carmaker made an entry into the competitive B-segment. Kia Sonet is the third car launched by the Korean company in India after Seltos SUV and Carnival MPV. The bookings for the Kia Sonet have been already started at the company's official website along with the official dealerships around the country. The SUV will directly compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and Ford EcoSport.
So far, it has got more than 25,000 bookings and managed to rake in more than 1,000 bookings each day. The automaker aims to sell 100,000 units of the car in India and export 50,000 units in the first year itself, as per the business daily Mint.
What are the specifications?
The company will make it available in two trims concept - Tech Line trim and GT Line trim. While the Tech Line has been reserved for the lower and mid-spec variants, the GT Line is for higher-spec variants. Those looking to opt for Kia Sonet, note there will be around seven colour options along with three dual-tone colour themes.
The monotone colours are intense red, beige gold, aurora black pearl, gravity grey, steel silver, intelligent blue, glacier white pearl, and clear white. The Kia Sonet line-up has got 16 variants. There are four with each engine option. There’s an electric sunroof on offer and you get segment-first ventilated seats only for the front two passengers.
There’s also the UVO app, which means the Kia Sonet is a connected car, comes with its own embedded SIM and that means you get access to a lot of features that you can do remotely with your smartphone, which adds to the convenience and safety of your vehicle.

The new model showcases some attractive features like a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a D-cut steering wheel, ventilated driver and front passenger seats.
It also boasts of Bose seven-speaker system with sub-woofer, LED sound mood lighting, a wireless smartphone charger with cooling function, Smart Pure air purifier with virus protection, and sunroof.
Now, coming to the variety of engine options there are four of them. There is a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Then there’s a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and there is a 1.5-litre diesel engine of which there are two variants.
