Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Says He Should Get A Nobel Prize: 'I Know How...'

Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi Jal Board has passed a scheme and claimed that the BJP has asked the Lieutenant Governor to stop this scheme.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said he should get a Nobel Prize for running the government in Delhi as the BJP is allegedly preventing his government from doing developmental works.

"They (the BJP) tried to stop the construction of schools and hospitals in Delhi. They do not want the poor to get the same level of education as their children. They tried to stop hospitals. Only I know, how am I running the government in Delhi, I should get a Nobel prize for this," Kejriwal said while addressing people in New Delhi.

Kejriwal said that Delhi Jal Board has passed a scheme and claimed that the BJP has asked the Lieutenant Governor to stop this scheme.

"BJP asked Delhi LG to stop this scheme. Officers have been threatened, they are crying. When Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi called the officers to ask why they were not bringing the bill, the officers said that we have been threatened that if this scheme came to the cabinet, they would be suspended.

Meanwhile, the AAP leaders held a protest over water bills at the party office on Sunday.

Kejriwal further claimed that the BJP is threatening the officers that they would be put in jail like Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain.

"Just like Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are in jail, you will also put officers in jail by filing false cases of ED, CBI," he added.

Kejriwal's accusations come amid AAP's claim that the CBI is planning to arrest Arvind Kejriwal in the next few days.

While the party did not say in which case Kejriwal is likely to be arrested, it said that this was being done to prevent the AAP from stitching an alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as the BJP is scared of the two parties coming together.

While there was no immediate response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to the AAP's claims, the BJP said AAP leaders are trying to create confusion and generate sympathy for Kejriwal.

The ruling AAP has been protesting against the alleged stalling of a proposed one-time settlement scheme. The AAP MLAs accused the BJP of stalling the proposed scheme by putting pressure on government officers. The proposal of the scheme has yet not been approved by the cabinet.

However, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the Kejriwal government is doing politics over the same.

"Arvind Kejriwal is doing politics over one-time settlement scheme for unpaid water bills. I have a question for him - what is this scheme? He is only trying to loot the people of Delhi through this scheme."
