Monsoon Session: RS adjourns for brief interval over Una incident

New Delhi: Amid protests over Una incident monsoon session of Parliament started today. Opposition protested over Una incident in both the houses of Parliament which led to adjournment of RS for 10 minutes. In Una last week, some persons claiming to be “Gau rakshak” (cow protectors) thrashed seven Dalit youths alleging that they had killed a cow. The victims, however, claimed that they were skinning the cow which had already died because of natural causes. Footage of the incident went viral. It sparked protests in that state where a policeman was killed in mob violence. A Dalit also committed suicide as protests against last week’s incident. Will raise Una incident issue in Parliament, said Congress President Sonia Gandhi in party’s parliamentary meeting. On Thursday, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi would visit Una city (Gujarat).
