India, China To Hold 15th Round Of Corps Commander Level Talks On March 11

Indo-China on LAC Standoff: India and China will now try to find a solution so that the dispute does not escalate further.

New Delhi: India and China decided to hold the 15th round of Corps Commander-level talks at the Chushul Moldo meeting point in India on March 11, 2022, based on mutual consent, according to the defense sources.

Both the countries on Tuesday have had 14 rounds of talks that resulted in the resolution of North & South Bank of Pangong Tso, Galwan and Gogra Hot Spring areas, according to the sources quoted by news agency ANI.

India and China will now try to find a solution so that the dispute does not escalate further. According to defense sources, the recent statements of both countries for an acceptable solution are encouraging.

Corps Commander level officers participate in this meeting and try to reach a consensus on resolving the border dispute. The current talks will be of the 15th round.

For the last two years, there is tension going on between India and China in Ladakh.

On Monday, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that his country and India have faced some difficulties in bilateral relations in the last few years. He said that the disputes between the two countries should not impact the 'overall interest of bilateral cooperation.'

"China and India relations have encountered some setbacks in recent years which do not serve the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples," Wang Yi said in response to a question asked by PTI on the boundary issue and ties between the two neighbours.

"As regards the boundary question, it is left over from history. China has all along advocated managing differences through equal footing consultation and actively seeking a fair and equitable settlement and meanwhile not letting it affect or interfere with bigger picture of bilateral cooperation," he said.

China and India should be "partners rather than rivals", said Wang.

Earlier, China had attacked the Indian Army over the border in the Galvan Valley, in which Indian soldiers gave a befitting reply and killed 40 Chinese soldiers. After this, both the countries started commander-level talks for peace.
