2018 Hyundai Santro Interior Revealed Before Launch
The new set of spy shots reveal the instrument cluster, dashboard and more
Hyundai is set to launch the 2018 Santro in India on 23 October. While the official launch is still a week away, quite a lot about the hatchback is already known -- including its variants and colour options, powertrain, features and initial driving impressions. Now, a set of spy shots have surfaced online, revealing the interior of the hatchback. So, let’s take a look.
This image depicts the Santro’s instrument cluster, which is quite different from other Hyundais. Instead of a central MID flanked by two round dials on either side, the Santro gets motorcycle-like integrated round dials with the driver information display on the right.
The speedometer gets carbon fibre finish in the centre, which along with the orange highlights gives the instrument cluster a sporty touch.
The central console looks quite similar to other Hyundais. It features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system flanked by tilted AC vents. Hyundai has already confirmed that the Santro will be equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is expected to be limited to the top-spec Asta variant only.
The new Santro will get unique-looking side AC vents that are inspired by the Mercedes-Benz A-Class as they mimic the design of an air turbine. Hyundai will offer the Santro with manual AC only. Its controls are visible in the image, located below the hazard light switch. These dials seem to have been adopted from the original i10 instead of the Grand i10.
The steering wheel in the Santro looks largely identical to that of the Grand i10 except for the silver colour inserts. Like the latter, it also features volume control buttons on the left bar and Bluetooth telephony button below that.
All said, the new Santro looks quite promising. It packs various segment-first features and as seen during the short drive we had last week, the quality of the interior is also appreciable.
