The ashes were immersed almost after four months. Local priests performed the rituals for the family, which later left in a a fleet of cars for Varanasi, where the remaining ashes would be immersed in the Ganges river.(Pic: Manav Manglani)

Aishwarya Rai visited the city today along with husband Abhishek Bachchan to immerse the ashes of her father at the Sangam, the holy confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical river Saraswati.
