Controversy Sparks As Spanish Influencer Reveals She 'Cooked' And 'Ate' Her Knee Cartilage With Partner

Popular Spanish Twitch streamer Paula Gonu recently shocked fans by revealing that after undergoing surgery, she cooked and ate a portion of her own knee.

People from all over the world travel and sample different cuisines. Some even go so far as to try unusual foods. People eat cockroaches, lizards, scorpions, snakes, crocodiles, and other creatures. A woman, on the other hand, ate a portion of her knee and posted a video about the same on a social media platform. Paula Gonu, a 30-year-old influencer, used some of her knee cartilage in a spaghetti bolognese she made for herself and her partner. Paula is a Spanish content creator with 2 million Instagram followers.

She revealed in a podcast show that during surgery, a portion of her knee known as the meniscus was removed. Following that, the doctor asked if she wanted to keep the part, and the doctor agreed. She further added that the surgeon had placed it in alcohol to preserve it for a longer period of time.

She also said that after a week of storing it, she and her partner were discussing it, and the influencer came up with the idea of cooking it. She revealed that she wanted to consume it because it was a part of her and she wanted to reintroduce it into her body. Then she mixed it into a Bolognese sauce and served it to her partner.

HERE'S HOW PEOPLE REACTED:

People responded to the situation in various ways on social media. Some thought her story was hilarious, while others thought it was completely disgusting. "At what point did I decide that it was a good idea to watch this over dinner?" one user wondered. Someone else said, "You are what you eat."

Paula also admitted on the show that she once masturbated on a plane. She added that she did it because she couldn't sleep, but no one saw her do it.

"I told him I wanted to eat it because it was part of me and I had to put it back in my body," the Badalona native explained, adding, "I wanted to be able to say in my head that I've eaten a piece of my own meniscus."

The news of Gonu's bizarre meal sent her fans into a frenzy, with many expressing disgust at the idea of eating one's own body parts.

Though her case is unusual, the controversial Twitch personality is not the first to consume a part of their own body. Autosarcophagy is a practise that has been documented in several cultures throughout history and is sometimes performed for religious or spiritual reasons.
