September 2022 Festivals And Vrats: Know Date Of Sharad Navratri This Month. Check Fasting Days To Observe

The first vrat this month is of Rishi Panchami which is observed today. Other fasts will be kept during Ganesh Utsav, Anant Chaturthi, Pitrupaksha Navratri, and on many other occasions this month.

September 2022 Festivals and Vrat: The month of September has kicked off festivities across the country. Several festivals will be observed this month where people keep fast and pray to various Gods. It is the month of Bhadrapada which will end on September 10, according to the Hindu calendar. It will be followed by the month of Ashwin which will start on September 11. The first vrat this month is of Rishi Panchami which is observed today. Other fasts will be kept during Ganesh Utsav, Anant Chaturthi, Pitrupaksha Navratri, and on many other occasions this month.

September 1 (Thursday) – Rishi Panchami, Lalita Shashthi

September 2 (Friday) – Surya Shashti, Santana Saptami, Badi Satam

September 4 (Sunday) – Shri Radhashtami, Swami Haridas Jayanti

September 5 (Monday) – Teacher's Day

September 6 (Tuesday) – Parivartini Ekadashi (Smart)

September 7 (Wednesday) – Dolgyaras, Jaljhulni Ekadashi (Vaishnav)

September 9 (Friday) – Anant Chaturdashi, Ganpati Bappa Visarjan

September 10 (Saturday) – Pitru Paksha begins, Shradh begins, Purnima fasting

September 17 (Saturday)– Jivit Putrika fast, Ashokashtami

September 21 (Wednesday) – Indira Ekadashi

September 25 (Sunday) – Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Shradh ends

September 26 (Friday) – Sharad Navratri begins, Ghatasthapana, Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. Sharad Navratri begins the day after Pitru Paksha ends. During these nine days, devotees worship nine forms of Goddess Durga.

Ganesh Utsav 2022 - The 10-day long Ganpati festival is starting on 31 August 2022 and will end on 9 September 2022.

Pitru Paksha 2022- Every year Pitru Paksha starts from the full moon of Bhadrapada month and lasts till the new moon of Ashwin month. This year Pitru Paksha will start on September 10 and will end on September 25. This time is the best time to do away with Pitra Dosh.

Sharadiya Navratri 2022- Navratri, the biggest festival of Hindus in September, is starting from 26 September. Nine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped for nine days in Navratri.
