Catherine responded positively to the question of whether she would want to star in an Indian film during a press conference, praising Ritesh Batra's The Lunchbox. "In fact, one of my favourite films, which is not Bollywood, is called The Lunchbox, which is one of my favourite films of all time," she went on to say.

Catherine claimed to have discovered the film while travelling abroad and to have seen it twice in a row. The actor stated that she met director Ritesh Batra as soon as she arrived in London after learning of his presence through her agent. Catherine stated that she is eager to work with him and is looking forward to the opportunity.
