New Delhi: Kerala Police used water cannons and tear gas to stop the members of BJP Yuva Morcha as the latter were protesting against CM Pinarayi Vijayan over the gold smuggling case. The protest was staged outside the state Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday demanding Vijayan's resignation from the post after the prime accused in the gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh, levelled allegations against CM for his involvement in the smuggling case.

Earlier on Monday, Congress members showed black flags and marched towards the government guest house in Kannur, where Vijayan was residing. Police used water cannons to stop the angry protesters from entering the gues house. One the same day, two Congress workers managed to board the flight in which Vijayan was returning to Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur.
