Retired DySP K Harikrishnan Death: The police also recovered a suicide note from his car parked close to the railway track.
Retired DySP K Harikrishnan, one of the officers who were part of the investigating team conducting a probe into Solar Scam case, was found dead after being hit by a train at Evoor in Haripad of Kerala on Saturday. The police also recovered a suicide note from his car parked close to the railway track.
According to Asianet, on Saturday, passersby spotted the body of Harikrishnan at the railway crossing in Ramapuram in Kayamkulam around 12.20 Am. Following this, they alerted the police who reached the spot and started the probe.
However, till now, the police did not reveal any details about the crime.
The relatives of Harikrishnan said that he was under severe mental stress, as per the report.
Harikrishnan, the former DySP in Perumbavoor, was already under scanner for several claims related to the inquiry of the case.
He reportedly surpassed the investigating officer to arrest Saritha S Nair, the accused in Solar scam case, in July 2013. The action of Harikrishnan was called a hasty move by some officials. However, a report on IANS said that the now-deceased was able to garner enough evidence, especially pertaining to Saritha, which eventually led to the downfall of the Congress-led UDF.
He also drew the flak of judicial commission probing the solar case.
Harikrishnan, who later retired from service, had a few Vigilance cases against him after it was found he had allegedly acquired assets which were in excess of his known sources of income.
