'Kerala Govt, CMO & CM's Aides Involved In Smuggling Activities So There's Ground To Interfere': Governor Arif

Responding to the statement, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan openly challenged CM Vijayan to show one example of political interference by him. He also offered to resign if one example was shown.

Chennai: “If the state government, Chief Minister’s Office and people close to CM are involved in smuggling activities, there is ground for me to interfere,” said Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. While the tiff between the CM and the Governor is increasing day by day, the Governor also said that he sees Chief Minister's Office patronising smuggling activities.

According to ANI, Kerala Gov Arif M Khan said, “ For one month, I returned every file relating to the University... There is a 'Laxman Rekha' for everybody. CM not responding to the call of the Governor is crossing 'Laxman Rekha'... people in CM office were patronising the smuggling.”

The statement of the Governor came a day after CM Pinarayi Vijayan told the Governor to not act bigger than he was Constitutionally capable of. 

The CM said that Governors will usually stay away from active politics but the person (Kerala Governor) was trying to create a parallel government. 

He said that the Governor was calling press conferences and talking about sacking Ministers, dismissing senate and syndicate members, according to Manorama.
