However, a controversy erupted over the medical treatment provided to Chandy. The Congress leader despite his poor health was also forced to speak on social media to dispel the rumours.

On Monday, Chandy's relative petitioned CM Pinarayi Vijayan and alleged that Oomeen Chandy was denied modern medical treatment by his wife and son. He was forced to take traditional medical treatment. Therefore, the state should intervene in the matter, said the petition.

However, Chandy's son Chandy Oommen took to social media and gave an explanation. The former CM also spoke on his son's social media page.

Meanwhile, former Defence Minister AK Antony visited Chandy. He also reportedly discussed about the political scenario in the state.
