Female College Student Drugged, Raped, Abandoned On Mountain Pass In Kerala: Police

The police are probing if more people have been involved in the crime.

A female college student was drugged, raped and abandoned on a mountain pass in Kozhikode district, said the police to PTI. The issue came to light after the family members gave a missing person complaint to the police. Based on the complaint, the accused has been identified and investigations are continuing.

According to PTI, the police have launched a detailed investigation on the basis of the survivor's statement. The police said that the accused would be nabbed soon. They are also probing if more people are involved in the incident.

On May 30, the first-year woman graduate went missing and later she was found drugged, rapped and abandoned in a curve to Thamarassery Churam that connects Wayanad to Kozhikode. The police said that the woman was staying as a paying guest near her college under the Thamarassery police station limit.

However, she went unreachable on the day of the crime and the family members filed a missing person complaint. While the investigation was in progress, the woman contacted her family members. Later, she was rescued by the police.

On Friday, the survivor is said to be present before additional district magistrate.

In another incident, a 44-year-old man was taken into custody by police for flashing his genitals to a woman aboard a bus earlier this week. The accused, identified as Binu N K, a native of Nallompuzha, has been arrested, police said on Thursday.

On Sunday, when a woman boarded a private bus at Cherupuzha near Payyanur, a man was sitting inside it reading a newspaper while no one else was there.

Soon, the man allegedly exposed his genitals and appeared to be openly masturbating in front of the woman even though she was recording the entire incident.
