In 2021, Kerala's Palakkad was marred by political murders. Miscreants hacked Renjith Srinivasan, who was then OBC Morcha state secretary and a member of the BJP state committee, to death in Palakkad.

The miscreants barged into his house and attacked him resulting in his death.

The BJP members condemned the murder and accused PFI. The BJP Kerala party president Surendran said that three murders of RSS members were reported in the two months.

Later, two SDPI men were arrested in Ranjith Sreenivasan murder case.

The murder was reportedly in retaliation to the murder of SDPI state secretary KS Shan who was killed by RSS men.
