Earlier, BJP leaders including former CM Bommai staged a walkout from the Assembly.

Siddaramaiah criticized the Centre for what he described as its "anti-people decisions." During his budget speech, he remarked, as per PTI, "The anti-people decisions of the Central Government over the past decade have resulted in concerning developments such as increased inequality, the accumulation of wealth in the hands of a select few, and the prevalence of crony capitalism. Consequently, our State Government has taken on the responsibilities neglected by the Central Government. Our guarantee schemes are not mere election ploys."

On the budget, BJP leader Tejasvi Surya said, "To take money from the Hindu temples and use it to fund the religious institutions of non Hindu faiths is the standard SOP of ‘secular’ leaders like Siddharamiah. Secularism as practiced by them is not just a stick to brow beat the Hindu, it is also a tool to financially enrich others at the cost of the Hindu."
