His remark came following a historic development on Saturday wherein the African Union (AU) was granted permanent membership in the G20 grouping, marking a momentous step in the global economic landscape. Azali Assoumani lauded the decision as a significant milestone during his participation in the two-day G20 Summit which witnessed robust deliberations among world leaders.

Reflecting on the emotional moment when the African Union's permanent membership was announced, Azali Assoumani told news agency ANI, "I was about to cry. It was a great emotion for me. The inclusion of the African Union in the G20 signifies a step towards greater representation of the African continent in global economic discussions and decision-making. It underscores the evolving dynamics of international diplomacy and India's prominent role in shaping these developments.
As India continues to assert its position as a global superpower, its partnerships with other nations, including those in Africa, are likely to become increasingly significant in the years to come.
