One Dose Of AstraZeneca Vaccine Reduces Death Risk By 80%: Report
Public Health England in a statement on Monday said that one shot of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine results in 80% less risk of death from the novel Coronavirus.
At the time when there is continous race of efficacy of Covid-19 vaccine candidates across the World, the recent data from the rollout of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine shows that one dose of the shot can reduce death risk by 80 per cent.

In its news analysis, PHE claimed that protection against death from the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine rises from approximately 80 per cent after one dose to 97 per cent after two doses.
The study observed that people who had a single dose of AstraZeneca vaccine were 55 per cent protected against death, with a figure of 44 per cent protection for a single dose of Pfizer, compared to unvaccinated people. It looked at new symptomatic cases of Covid-19 between December and April and people who died within 28 days of their positive test by vaccination status.
PHE further said, "Combined with the protection vaccines offer against becoming a case in the first place, this is equivalent to approximately 80% protection against mortality in individuals vaccinated with a single dose of either vaccine."

Speaking of Pfizer, PHE said that it was estimated that two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine reduces the risk of hospitalisation by 93 per cent for the over 80s.
Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration on Monday approved Pfizer and BioNTech’s request and authorized the use of the Covid-19 vaccine to kids ages 12 to 15 on an emergency use basis.
