Delhi Inoculation Drive: List Of 81 Vaccination Centres And All You Need To Know
The robust preparations ahead of the D-day when the world's biggest immunization exercise against the Covid-19 starts, are underway at the national capital and the Delhi government has designated 81 hospitals where the inoculation of Covid vaccines would be initiated from January 16 onwards.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday informed that the COVID-19 vaccination that is scheduled to start on Saturday (January 16) will be done across 81 locations in the national capital.
Talking about the COVID-19 vaccine doses received by Delhi and the rollout plan for the coronavirus vaccination programme, Kejriwal said, "So far, we have received 2,74,000 doses of vaccine from the Centre.
"Vaccination will be done at 81 locations in Delhi on 16th January. Around 100 people will be vaccinated at each of these locations in a day. Vaccination will be done on four days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday," said Kejriwal."We will begin with 81 centres, it will then be increased to 175 in a few days and then to 1,000 centres across Delhi," he added.
Each person will be administered two doses and the Centre provides 10 per cent extra vaccine, taking damage into account. So the 2,74,000 doses will be sufficient for around 1,20,000 health workers."
Vaccination Rollout In Delhi:
- Vaccination centres will start the drive with immunizing around 2.25 lakh healthcare workers in the capital as decided in phase I of the vaccination exercise.
- The vaccination will include the frontline and other priority groups decided by the Centre in further stages.
- The government will provide a staff of 7-8 people at each vaccination site. The staff includes security personnel, nurses, paramedics, and a doctor.
- Three rooms are designated for the vaccination at each site divided into a waiting area, inoculation room, and observation area post-vaccination.
- A reception desk is created before the rooms for the registration and verification of the beneficiaries who would be called via the Co-WIN app.

300,000 health care workers across India are set to be vaccinated for Covid-19 on the first day, which will be a global record due to India’s unique position as having access to one the largest stockpile of doses in the world and having put in place massive grassroots preparations in recent weeks.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will be present at Lok Nayak Hospital on Saturday to oversee the inoculation drive while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickstart the inoculation program at around 10:30 am on January 16th.
