Covid Update: India's Daily Cases Surpass 3-Lakh Mark In Last 24 Hrs, Omicron Tally At 9,287
There has been an increase of 3.6 per cent in the number of Omicron cases since yesterday.
New Delhi: India reported 3,17,532 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday. This is 12.22 percent higher than the number of fresh Covid-19 cases reported in the last tally. There are a total of 9,287 confirmed cases of Omicron in India. There has been an increase of 3.6 per cent in the number of Omicron cases since yesterday.
The daily positivity rate currently stands at 16.41 percent, while the weekly positivity rate of Covid-19 currently stands at 16.06 percent. India's active caseload currently stands at 19,24,051.
As many as 2,23,990 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This brings the total number of recoveries in India to 3,58,07,29. India's current recovery rate is 93.69 percent.
As many as 1,58,96,34,485 Crore vaccine doses have been provided so far to states and Union Territories (UTs). Also, 70.93 crore Covid-19 tests have been conducted so far. The number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours is 19,35,180.
More than 73 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. As per provisional reports till 7 am today, 1,59,67,55,879 have been administered in India so far.
Over 12.72 crore doses are still available with states and UTs to be administered, according to an update by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
India completed one year of its Nationwide Vaccination Drive on January 16.
