Covid Update: India Records 2,503 Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, Lowest In 677 Days
The Covid death toll of the country now stands at 5,15,877 while the daily positivity rate has dipped to 0.47%.
New Delhi: India has been reporting a massive decline in Coronavirus cases and the country logged 2,503 fresh Covid cases on Sunday, which is the lowest in 677 days. 4,377 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours while 27 people died due to the deadly disease.
The daily positivity rate of the country has now dipped to 0.47%.
The active cases comprise 0.08 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate further improved to 98.72 per cent, the ministry said.
A reduction of 1,901 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The number of cases is the lowest since May 3, 2020.

Maharashtra
Maharashtra on Sunday reported 251 COVID-19 cases, taking the state's tally to 78,71,202, while the death toll remained unchanged at 1,43,752 with no fresh fatality due to the viral infection, according to a PTI report.
The active tally in Maharashtra stood at 2,524, he added.
Pune and Mumbai cities recorded 57 and 44 fresh infections, respectively, while the Pune administrative circle, which also comprises Solapur and Satara districts, added 88 cases to the tally, he said. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region saw 81 new cases during the day.
Maharashtra health department data showed that 448 people were discharged during the day, taking the recovery count to 77,20,992, which is 98.09 per cent of the overall caseload.
It also revealed that the fatality rate in the state was 1.82 per cent.
