There has been a big disclosure about the coronavirus vaccine. Research reveals that taking the first dose reduces the risk of death by 82 percent and the second dose by 95 percent.
New Delhi: The vaccine has proved to be very effective in preventing death due to coronavirus infection. This has been revealed in a report released by the Indian Council of Medical Research and National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR-NIE). The report reveals that the first dose of the vaccine is up to 82 percent effective in preventing death. And if a person is given both doses, then it shoots up to 95 percent.
The research was conducted in Tamil Nadu to analyse the effect of vaccination. The Tamil Nadu Police Department is gathering information about the vaccination of its 'jawans' and the deaths during the second wave (besides hospitalization).
According to an Indian Express report, ICMR-NIE Director Dr. Manoj Murhekar said this data was used to estimate the deaths due to the coronavirus in policemen who weren't vaccinated.

The report reveals that between 13th April and 14th May 2021, 31 personnel died due to the coronavirus. There are over 1,17,000 policemen working in the Tamil Nadu Police Department.
