Wordle is owned by The New York Times, which bought it in January this year from US-based oftware engineer Josh Wardle who created the word game in 2021. Every day, a new challenge is released at midnight across the world, which also means some countries get to see the new word before others do.         

The game has simple rules. One gets six chances to guess the five letter randomly generated word of the day. The squares meant to contain the letters turn green, yellow or grey as you fill them in, letting you know if you are on the right track.
