New Delhi: Actor-model Harnaaz Sandhu made history on Monday as she was crowned Miss Universe 2021. The 21-year-old from Punjab beat contestants from 80 countries to be crowned Miss Universe 2021. Harnaaz won the Miss India Universe title in October 2021.

During the competition's final Q&A round, the top three contestants were asked what advice would they give to young women dealing with the pressure they face today.
In response, Sandhu said, "I think the biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique and that's what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others. I believed in myself and that's why I'm standing here today."
Sandhu's answer was met with thundering applause.

Who is Harnaaz Sandhu?
Harnaaz Sandhu is originally from Chandigarh, Punjab. Harnaaz is a model by profession and is pursuing her MA in Public Administration. Harnaaz was crowned by last year's Miss Universe by Andrea Meza of Mexico. Paraguay's Nadia Ferreira, 22, finished second, while South Africa's Lalela Mswane, 24, finished third.
