New Delhi: Popular South Indian actress Samantha Akkineni made her debut with the second season of Manoj Bajpayee’s popular web series ‘The Family Man 2’. The web series which was released earlier this year on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video garnered lots of appreciation from the critics and audience. Samantha’s extraordinary performance in the web series has also been admired.
Well, Samantha Akkineni, who is currently basking in the success of her debut Bollywood project, has another reason to rejoice as the actress has added another feather to her cap. Samantha has bagged the Best Performer Female Award in a series at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
Samantha shared the news on her social media and wrote, “Thankyou @iffmelbourne I am so so grateful .. Thankyouuu @rajanddk for being able to see beyond the 'cute girl’ image that many couldn’t look past .. as an actor I dreamed of being given such an opportunity.. the chance to play a layered and intense role . #Raji forced me to dig deep .. and I am beyond happy today to receive a certificate of approval for the performance”.
Many celebrities including Kangana Ranaut, Rakul Preet Singh, Dulquer Salmaan and others congratulated the actress for this big win.
The lead actor of ‘The Family Man 2’ also bagged the Best Performer Male Award in a series at the Indian Film Festival Melbourne.
Meanwhile, other than these 2 talented artists, Anurag Basu has won the Best Director award for ‘Ludo’, ‘Mirzapur S2’ bagged the Best Web Series award, Vidya Balan bagged the Best Performer Female award in feature movie for ‘Sherni’. Also, Pankaj Tripathi won the Diversity In Cinema award at the Indian Film Festival Melbourne.
