Why Bollywood Doesn't Produce Films On 'Ramayana' & 'Mahabharata'? Swapnil Joshi From 'Shri Krishna' Reveals

While Bollywood has brought almost every subject related to society on the big screen, it has never made any film on great mythological stories like 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata'.

The mythological TV series 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata' surpassed all television records and many of these shows are still available for viewers. But to date, no film has been made on the big screen about these subjects.

Sri Krishna Swapnil Joshi reveals the reason

While Bollywood has brought almost every subject related to society on the big screen, it has never made any film on great mythological stories like 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata'. Recently, during an interview, Swapnil Joshi was asked to answer on this matter but he even he could not answer it. Swapnil said that “I am also surprised that why such great stories were not brought to the big screen. I'm thinking about it myself."

Swapnil Joshi played Krishna in TV series

Swapnil Joshi played the role of 'Krishna' in the popular TV series 'Shri Krishna'. Apart from this, he has also appeared in Ramanand Sagar's 'Uttar Ramayana' in the role of 'Kush', the son of Lord Rama.

Ramayana has also been made on OTT

Even though Bollywood is yet to produce a movie, a web series based on Ramayana is available on OTT. The web series titled 'Ramayug' was released on MX Player on 6th May. 'Ramayug' is based on Valmiki Ramayana but it's very interesting to watch because of its amazing visual effects.   

Sita - The film is under production

Recently, the film 'Sita' made quite a news among movie fans. Kareena Kapoor had been offered the role of Sita and she had demanded a hefty fee. Although the film has not been finalized yet.
