Sheezan Khan's Sister Talks About How His Arrest Affected The Family, Says 'It Was Such A Long Wait'
Shezaan Khan's sister Shafaq Naaz spoke about the impact on their family throughout the ongoing proceedings.
New Delhi: In December last year, Sheezan Khan was taken into custody by the Waliv Police after actress Tunisha Sharma took her own life. In the show ‘Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul’, the two of them were playing the lead characters. Sheezan was the subject of a complaint that Tunisha's mother, Vanita Sharma, had filed against him, accusing him of allegedly aiding and abetting the suicide of her daughter.
On March 4, Sheezan was released on bail by a local court in Maharashtra after spending more than two months in jail. Recently, the actor's sister gave an interview in which she discussed the first time she met her brother and the struggles they had to face.
Shezaan Khan's sister Shafaq Naaz spoke up about the impact on the family throughout the ongoing proceedings.
When asked how she felt when she heard Shezaan Khan had been granted bail, Shafaq Naaz told Indian Express, “It was such a long wait and we had been waiting to have him with us. Just the fact that we could touch him, and hug him meant so much to us. All these while when we visited him, we could only see him across a glass window and speak through an intercom. At that moment, everything just went blurry and all I wanted was to bring him back home.”
Shafaq continued, ‘Honestly, for all of us the world stopped on December 24. I think the world has moved on but we haven’t. As for Sheezan, he has gone through the worst. I don’t think he even got the time to process things as everything happened in such a jiffy. He was also away from all of us in that jail. But he’s such a strong boy who dealt with everything patiently. It has taken a toll on him but he is standing strong and is at peace right now at home.”
She said that they are giving her younger brother space and not pressing the issue since he's going through a bad period.
Sheezan got bail on a surety of Rs 1 lakh and was told to surrender his passport to the court as part of the conditions of the bail.
Tunisha Sharma allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on December 24, 2022, on the sets of her TV serial 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul' near Valiv in Palghar. Sheezan was arrested the next day for abetment of suicide on a complaint lodged by Sharma's mother.
