Tunisha Sharma Suicide Case Highlights: Vasai Court Sent Sheezan Khan To Judicial Custody For 14 Days

Background

HIGHLIGHTS: The death of actress Tunisha Sharma has stunned the TV industry and ignited a heated political discussion. Actress Tunisha Sharma, 20, was discovered dead on the set of the popular TV show ‘Ali Baba: Daastan-E-Kabul’ on December 24. Speculation persists that the actress's suicide was precipitated by her co-actor Sheezan Khan, the man she was allegedly dating.

Shezaan Khan, a co-star and former boyfriend of the actor has been arrested on suspicion of aiding suicide. He is one of the 22 people whose statements are said to have been recorded by police who are investigating the case. Sheezan was arrested and charged with violating Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.

Apparently, the actor has not yet provided a clear explanation for why he broke up with Tunisha. The police reported on Tuesday that he has also frequently changed his statements. According to reports, actor Sheezan Khan also broke down in tears in front of a female cop while being questioned about the case.

On Sunday, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) made a request to the government of Maharashtra, asking for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into Tunisha Sharma's murder.

After a tea break, Tunisha Sharma was found hanging on the set. Tunisha died in her lover Sheezan's makeup room, according to media sources. Unfortunately for his shot, Sheezan had already left the room. After returning to the room, Sheezan knocked but got no response. When he finally broke in, he discovered the actress's corpse hanging. Following this, he quickly sought the help of other cast members in transporting Tunisha to a nearby hospital.

Tunisha, who grew up in Chandigarh, started her acting career at a very early age. In 2016 she made her film debut with 'Fitoor', playing the young Firdaus, the role played by Katrina Kaif in the latter part of the film.

Meanwhile, Tunisha Sharma's last rites was performed on Tuesday at roughly 3 p.m. in Mumbai's Mira Road.
