TMKOC Actor Priya Ahuja Rajda ‘Shocked’ Nobody Supported Jennifer Mistry, Says She Was Never Abusive On Sets
Priya offered Jennifer support after she made her accusations against the TMKOC show producers.
New Delhi: 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' actor Priya Rajda Ahuja expressed her surprise at the lack of support for Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal's charges against TV show producers. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal made a sexual misconduct allegation against the show producers a few weeks ago.
A few actors from 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' have since remarked about the matter; some backed her claims while the majority of them supported the producers. In an interview with ETimes, Priya Ahuja Rajda, who played Rita reporter on the show, confirmed that Jennifer was never abusive on the set. “I’m very shocked nobody supported Jennifer as she had many close friends on the set of the show. She was the one who was there with me during my depression days. I can confirm that she was never abusive or indisciplined on the sets of the show," she said.
Priya offered Jennifer support after she made her accusations. The actor added in the interview that she and the former show director Malav Rajda became close because of Jennifer. For thirteen years, Malav and Priya have been married. After 14 years as director, he parted ways with the production.
Priya had already claimed that she was abruptly fired from the comedy series. “Yes, the artists have to go through mental harassment when they work on Taarak Mehta. Asit Kumarr Modi bhai, Sohil Ramani or Jatin Bajaj (he’s like my younger brother) they never misbehaved with me. But as far work is concerned I’ve been subjected to unfair treatment,” the actor said.
Disha Vakani, Priya Ahuja, Shailesh Lodha, and Jennifer have all spoken out against the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since leaving the show.
Asit Modi, the show's producer, was accused of sexual harassment by Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Mr. Roshan Sodi, after she quit the show. Jennifer also alleged that Sohail Ramani, the project manager for the show, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj had treated her rudely.
