Television and film actor Lalit Manchanda, who also appeared in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', was found dead in his residence in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, April 21. The 36-year-old actor reportedly died by suicide, according to authorities, who confirmed that his body was discovered hanging at his home.

According to Times Of India, police reached the location shortly after being alerted and sent the body for postmortem examination. At the time of the discovery, no suicide note was recovered, and the initial investigation has ruled out any indications of foul play.

Lalit Manchanda dealing with personal difficulties

According to local media reports, Manchanda had been dealing with personal difficulties and mental health challenges in the months leading up to his death. The actor was known for his brief roles in several Bollywood films and television serials, and was recently involved in a web series project he was said to be deeply invested in.

CINTAA mourns the passing of Lalit Manchanda

On Tuesday, the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) took to Instagram to express their grief, writing, "CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Lalit Manchanda (member since 2012)," alongside a picture of the late actor.
