The Rupali Ganguly-led show 'Anupamaa' has dropped to second place in the latest TRP ratings, marking the first time it hasn’t claimed the top spot. Instead, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' has taken the lead. Speaking to News 18, Sudhanshu Pandey, who portrayed Vanraj Shah, shared his thoughts on the dip in TRP. The actor highlighted that the show has consistently performed at the top for four years, an impressive feat in itself.

Sudhanshu elaborated on how challenging it is for a daily soap to maintain the number one position. He pointed out that sustaining the show’s charm and keeping the audience engaged over such a long period is not an easy task.

Reflecting on the show’s success, Sudhanshu said, “Four years is a long time. They have done an incredible job with that. If it is going down a little bit, I think it is absolutely okay because it is inhuman for any show to just be there on top continuously. Thoda bahut upar neeche toh hoga (There will be some fluctuations), and I think that is natural.”

The 'Anupamaa' actor expressed his gratitude for the opportunities the show, produced by Rajan Shahi, provided him. He noted that it significantly expanded his fan base and solidified his presence in the television industry.

He mentioned that the show not only changed his life but also served as a valuable platform for others. “Anupamaa had given me a larger audience, and since it became a cult show, my fan base has increased significantly,” he remarked.

When asked about future plans and whether it would be difficult to move on from his character as Vanraj and take on new roles, Pandey shared that he has received numerous offers but is waiting for the right project. He explained that choosing his next role carefully has become more important following his iconic portrayal in 'Anupamaa'.

For those who may not know, Sudhanshu Pandey exited 'Anupamaa' in August 2024. Although he did not disclose a specific reason for his departure, he emphasised his desire to explore new acting opportunities.
