New Delhi: Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ has managed to become the talk of the town since its re-run on Doordarshan. The mythological show has given the other daily soaps and reality shows a run for their money. The show starring Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri is topping the TRP charts since the past few weeks. ‘Ramayan’ has also created a lot of buzz on social media as throwback pictures of the actors often go viral.
We had earlier shared with you a throwback photo of Dipika and Sunil from their ‘Vikraam Betal’ days. And guess what? We have now got our hands on an evergreen photo of original Ram aka Arun Govil from one of his films.
Did you know that Arun Govil, who won hearts with his performance as Lord Rama in ‘Ramayan’, had played the role of Lakshman in a film? Yes, you read that right.

Arun Govil was seen as Lakshmana in the film ‘Lav Kush’, which released on July 25, 1997. The movie was produced by Dilip Kanikaria while V. Madhusudhan Rao directed it.
Veteran Bollywood stars Jeetendra and Jaya Prada played the respective roles of Ram and Sita in the film. Dara Singh continued to reprise his role of Lord Hanuman in ‘Lav Kush’.

The interesting trivia was shared by Bollywood critic and trade analyst Sumit Kadel on Twitter. He tweeted, “Interesting Trivia - Arun Govil who played Shri Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s #Ramayan , played the character of Laxman in 1997 film Lav-kush. Jeetendra ji was Ram in the film.”
