New Delhi: TV couple Puja Banerjee & Kunal Verma, who are in a steady relationship since a very long time now, got engaged to each other in August 2017 in a lavish ceremony with many popular celebrities including Anita Hassanandani, Surbhi Jyoti & Bharti Singh in attendance. Since then, the couple's fans were excitedly waiting for their wedding and here comes good news for them. The couple, who was set to exchange wedding vows in a grand ceremony yesterday (15 April), had to cancel their marriage ceremony due to the novel Coronavirus lockdown. However, on the same day, Puja took to her social media account and revealed that the couple had already done a court marriage, one-and-half month back. Announcing the same, Puja posted a long note along with a throwback picture from last year's Durga Puja in which she's seen with Kunal. Posting the picture on Instagram, Puja wrote, "This is a pic from last year durga puja sindoor khela. Today was supposed to be our wedding but the situation is such that we have cancelled all our ceremonies although we had registered our marriage before a month so we are officially married and together forever now. With the blessing of our parents and grandparents we starting our new life need all of ur best wishes. Our family is happy and so are we." She further added, "Our family is happy and so are we. BBut given circumstances our heart goes out to all the people who are fighting for their lives right now and to all the families who lost their loved ones . Our prayers with all of you and a small contribution from our side as the money we were to spend for our marriage function we are donating to people who are in need now this is no time to celebrate but we will celebrate with our loved ones once the world becomes a happy place again. For the uninitiated, Pooja & Kunal met each other on the sets of Star Plus show ‘Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna’ in 2008 and are together since then. There was a time when Puja-Kunal's relationship went through a rough patch however the couple faced everything together and are now getting married soon. On the career front, Puja made her TV debut with ‘Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki’. She later went on to play the lead in ‘Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna’ opposite beau Kunal Verma and 'Sarvggun Sampanna'. Puja is fondly known for Goddess Parvati in ‘Devon Ke Dev-Mahadev’ opposite Mohit Raina. She replaced Sonarika Bhadoria in the mythological show. Whereas, Kunal too has acted in various TV shows including 'Hawan' and was last seen in Sidharth Shukla, Rashami Desai & Jasmin Bhasin starrer Colors show 'Dil Se Dil Tak'.
