Navjot Singh Sidhu Shares Why He Left Kapil Sharma's Show: 'There Were Political Reasons...'

Navjot Singh Sidhu is set to reunite with Kapil Sharma for a special episode on his new Netflix show 'The Great Indian Kapil Show'.

New Delhi: Following his removal as a judge in 2019 due to his contentious remarks on the Pulwama Attack, Navjot Singh Sidhu has now disclosed the reasons for his departure from The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS). While he refrained from going into further detail, Sidhu recently gave an interview to the YouTube channel The Grain Talk Show, where he stated that "political reasons" and other issues were the reasons he quit the reality chat show. According to him, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ was like a "bouquet made by god".

Navjot Singh Sidhu discussed his personal and professional relationship with Kapil Sharma, the comedian with whom he had been associated for many years. Looking back on their time together, the former cricketer said, “There were political reasons I don’t want to talk about. There were other reasons… and the bouquet fell apart. I have a wish that that bouquet must get together again, the way it was. I will be the first to facilitate. His show is still doing very well. Kapil is a genius."

Talking about the legendary characters from the show, Sidhu recalled, “There was dadi (Ali Asgar) and everyone. I wish everyone could get together… Everyone dispersed. Now Gutthi (Sunil Grover) is back. He met me in Goa. He is wonderful. He comes on for 10–15 minutes and regales everybody. He is another genius.”

Notably, after Sidhu's controversial 2019 comment on the Pulwama Attack, Archana Puran Singh took over ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ as a judge.
