Meet grown-up 'Roop' aka Shashank Vyas' LEADING LADY post-leap on show!

Rashmi Sharma’s recently launched 'Colors' show 'Roop-Mard Ka Naya Swaroop', featuring Affan Khan, Yash Tonk and Mitali Nag in prominent roles, is all set for a time leap. The makers were in talks with various known names like Shashank Vyas, Shivin Narang and Shardul Pandit to play the grown-up 'Roop'. Reportedly, Shashank Vyas has finally bagged the role & is set to be back on 'Colors' after 'Balika Vadhu'. Now according to latest reports, the makers have also finalized the female lead & its none other than 'Ek Deewana Tha' actress Donal Bisht. She also spoke about her role to IANS & said that, "I will play Ishika who is a strong, lives in the modern era with modern thinking and with an attitude that a girl can also be an earning member of the house. The show currently revolves around the conventional ideas of masculinity through its eight-year-old protagonist. But after leap, there will be a change in the concept & Roop will be seen as a ghar jamai. This was because no actor was ready to play an effeminate character. But now, the storyline will be loosely based on the lines of the Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor-starrer, 'Ki & Ka'. After which she played the parallel lead in in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kalash - Ek Vishwaas'. Donal shot to fame after playing the lead role in Sony TV's popular show 'Ek Deewaana Tha' co-starring Vikram Singh Chauhan and Namik Paul.
