Mariam Khan Reporting Live: Mahima Makwana to play grown-up 'Mariam' post leap!

Popular GEC 'Star Plus' went through a revamp in May this year after which shows like 'Mariam Khan - Reporting Live' and 'Krishna Chali London' went on-air. While 'Krishna Chali London' is fetching good numbers for the channel, 'Mariam Khan...' is struggling to deliver in terms of TRPs. The show premiered on 21st May and after a run of almost 3 months now, the makers are planning to introduce a time leap by the end of this month to increase the TRPs. Speaking about the same, a source told Tellychakkar that, "TV actress Mahima Makwana has been finalized to essay the titular character." Mahima Makwana, who rose to fame after playing the role of 'Rachna' in popular ZEE TV show 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke', will replace child actress Deshna Dugad as 'Mariam' in the 'Star Plus' show. This is because will not be much scope for the characters of 'Rehaan' and 'Zain' (played by Paras & Avinash respectively) as a love angle will be introduced for 'Mariam' after the time leap. Whereas actresses Sheena Bajaj and Priyanka Kandwal will remain a part of the show but their screen-time will be reduced too.
