Karan Oberoi who was recently arrested in an alleged rape case, reveals why he and 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin' star Mona Singh had parted ways 13 years ago

TV actor and 'Band of Boys' member Karan Oberoi has been in headlines for 2 months over an alleged rape and blackmailing case filed against him by a woman astrologer. He even spent a month in jail before he was granted bail recently. In the update in this case, the woman who made accusations against him is arrested for "orchestrating" a fake attack on herself last month trying to make it look like she was targeted because of her complaint against the actor. Now that the actor is out, he has been talking to media defending himself against all charges made on him and this is when the mention of his ex-girlfriend Mona Singh came up. Mona, who was recently seen in the lead role in Ekta Kapoor's 2016 show 'Kavach...Kaali Shaktiyon Se', had shared screen with her ex boyfriend Karan in her popular Sony TV show 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi' back in 2006 in which he played the pivotal role of 'Raghav Oberoi'. Karan and Mona were dating at that time but parted ways and now elaborating on what went wrong in their relationship, Karan says - "I wanted to be with her. She is a wonderful girl and a great artiste. We were too young and different as people. Mona is very social, always bubbly but at that time marriage was not something she was looking at. Her career was going great guns and she wanted to focus on that."  Karan made these revelations to Spotboye and adding further he said - “Yes, I wanted to settle down very quickly.”

Since Mona, who also appeared in web series 'Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain'(ALT Balaji) and 'Yeh Meri Family'(TVF) in past two years, resides not too far away from Karan's building, one wonders if the two bump into each other and whether they are on talking terms.

Actor says - "There is just social hi and hello if we meet but no animosity as such. You can never behave ill with someone you have loved."

And while Karan was in this rape-controversy recently, did Mona try to reach out to him? Karan- “She couldn’t have. Even if she tried I wouldn’t know as I didn’t have my phones. I still have 2500 unchecked messages on WhatsApp”. Mona will next be seen in another ALT Balaji webseries 'MOM'.
