Mumbai: Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar trended on social media after he proposed his girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj post an IPL 2021 match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings on Thursday (October 7). Although CSK lost the match, Chahar managed to grab eyeballs with his proposal. Millions of fans from all across the globe watched the adorable moment on their TV screens.

Jaya Bhardwaj’s brother Sidharth Bhardwaj, who is a reality TV star, congratulated the two lovebirds on social media. He shared a picture of the couple on his Instagram story and wrote, “Congratulations to my beautiful sister Jaya and Deepak, let the celebrations begin.” 

For the uninitiated, Sidharth participated in Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss 5’. He emerged as the second runner-up of the reality show, which aired on Colors channel.

The official Twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings shared a video wherein Deepak can be seen proposing Jaya. Bhardwaj was beaming with joy as Chahar surprised her by presenting a ring. She immediately said yes when the cricketer popped the question.  

"She said yessss! Congratulations Cherry! Stay Merry," the caption for the post read. The video has received over 16k like within two hours.

Jaya works with a corporate firm, according to a report in ETimes. The portal had published an article on August 30, which suggested that Deepak and Jaya might tie the knot soon.
